Booxie is a Los Angeles based venture developed by an experienced team of digital media professionals who believe that today’s social media users are craving deeper connections that go beyond a single photo. Together they created Booxie, a storytelling tool for the digital age. Booxie is the brainchild of renowned Hollywood photographers David Alexander and James Sorensen, along with seasoned entertainment executive Ray Slay. The trio also founded X-DAM, the hugely successful enterprise-grade digital asset management platform servicing global Fortune 500 companies.

    David Alexander, Chairman, BooxieBooxie is the culmination of David’s almost five-decade career in photography and media services businesses. Coming from the perspective of having made iconic photographs and providing media services to photographers and large entertainment enterprises, David sees Booxie as the ultimate means of creative social storytelling and communication.

    Chief Executive Officer

    Booxie - Ray SlayRay is a photographer, collaborator, business leader, and asset monetization expert. He’s run large photography teams at NBCUniversal and The Walt Disney Company and developed the entertainment industry’s widely used asset management service, X-DAM.     Chief Technical Officer and Head of Engineering

    Srinath Madas, Booxie CTO Head of EngineeringSrinath Madas’s expertise is in building teams and guiding a product across all phases of its life cycle – from analysis and architecture, to solution design, system integration, security, testing and maintenance. Madas has served as Booxie’s Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering since the company was founded in 2016, responsible for delivering the software that is at the heart of the product. He was a major influence in the building of the social storytelling iOS app, and is the key driver in how the Booxie framework continues to evolve and improve.

  • James (Jim) Sorensen

    Chief Financial Officer

    Jim_SorensenJim played a fundamental role in the growth and financial strategies for public and private companies in CFO and COO positions, leading five IPOs and over a dozen acquisitions throughout his distinguished career. He brings expertise in the areas of business processes, financial and operational management, and mergers and acquisitions.     Theresa KennedyTheresa has held leadership roles in editorial, publishing, web design and photography, and now brings her knack for branding and project management to Booxie as an integral team member helping to build the organization from the ground up. Possessing the ability to derive unique insights into any design or marketing challenge, Theresa does a little bit of everything at Booxie, from promotion and strategy to production and art direction.
